Vendor News
There’s breathing room in our site plan this week. La Pooch, Rochelle Rose, and Otolith are all off this week, and instead of 5 Guest Vendors, we have 3. Holly Acres is finished for the season, so Formisano Farms will expand to absorb that space. Schober is about to expand with extra tents for their peach tables. This is the last week of the season for Cymron Cottage; stop by to bid them farewell and pick up something pretty for the garden. And at the west end, this week marks the first appearance of the Eckert family corn truck.
Guest Vendors
BERRIES AND CHOCOLATE: Both specialty berry farms are here this week, Brookeberry with their organic raspberries and Blue Acres Berry Farm with—you guessed it—blueberries. They will flank John & Kira’s Chocolates at the Guest Vendor end of the Market.
Cycle for a Cause?
Longtime friend of the Market Steven Burch is riding in the Multiple Sclerosis City to the Shore Bike Tour. He’s here seeking sponsors and recruiting riders
Independence Day Events
No Collingswood events for the holiday will create conflict or opportunity for the Market. All in-town events were held on Thursday, July 04. However, this is a big home barbecue weekend, so anyone who’s in town for the weekend will likely be at the Market on Saturday.
New Feature: Market Tours!
Friend of the Farmers Market (FOFM) volunteer Erin O’Donnell will be conducting tours of the Market to familiarize shoppers with vendors and their wares, and to help them understand various types of table areas. Look for Erin this week at your tables: she’ll be introducing herself and asking questions that might be of interest to shoppers, including what to do with a patty pan squash. Then, July 13, you’ll see her again, conducting the first Market Tour.
BID Vendors
Mike DiBartolo, not David Hodges, is your contact for all questions regarding your appearance. Mike DiBartolo, dibartolobakery@comcast.net (609) 949-3424.
Flexible Site Plan
Changes will continue to occur throughout the season as vendors come and go and as we learn more about how neighbors interact. I remind you no spaces are ever guaranteed and require your cooperation if I move your location any given week.

Hello, Farm Marketeers!
Welcome back for Week 5 of our 2013 Season.
As I told you earlier, I have created this blog to communicate with you more directly and to eliminate email attachments. You may visit it at any time, but particularly after midnight on Thursdays to see the weekly notes and the site plan.
GUEST VENDORS
At the east end of the Market, this week’s extraordinary guests are:
-
Market Day Canele
-
Green Aisle Grocery
GUEST ARTIST/CRAFTER
Another 2013 innovation, each week we’ll host just one crafter or local artist selling self-produced work. The program is organized by Market favorite Aimee Eckert. This week’s Featured Artist is Sylvia Starlight Toys.

VENDOR NOTES
-
Monroeville Winery braved the winds last week and will return this Saturday for their second market day.
-
John & Kira’s Chocolates will return as well, for their second week.
-
Visalli Farm will bring back with their bedding plants and hanging baskets after a week off forced by Kathy’s broken elbow. Wish them well, please.
Remember, no particular space is ever guaranteed.
-
We do our best to accommodate your space and location needs, especially if you make them known to us!
We appreciate your flexibility in making the Market a big success for everyone.
Welcome Farm Marketeers!
I’ve invited you to this special blog where I’ll be posting site plans and news of interest to vendors at the Collingswood and Voorhees Farmers’ Markets.
From now on, Thursday emails will contain a link to this blog instead of attachments with site plans and Market details.
The other big advantage of this technique is that you can “carry your site plan with you” on your smart phone at the Market.
These are golden beets from Fruitwood Farm, oven roasted, sliced thick, pan crisped in olive oil, and finished with a honey glaze. Thanks to Lindsey Ferguson for the recipe.
Scroll through the blog to see the site plans and vendor notes for Collingswood and Voorhees, SAT MAY 25.
Then watch out for email on THU MAY 30 for a link to the site plans for SAT JUN 01.
See you at the Market!
–David Hodges
Collingswood SAT MAY 25
Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
Week 4 of our 2013 is the very different Mayfair Saturday.
The site plan is most unusual since we’re relocated to Irvin Avenue for just this one week each year. For most of you, this is no surprise; we’ve been through it many times before. For newcomers, the dislocation will be a bit traumatic.
VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITED
With very few exceptions (and you know who you are because we discussed the details on SAT MAY 18), vehicles cannot be driven or parked on Irvin Avenue this Saturday. The vast majority of you will park in the lot behind the Kitchen Associates building and unload by foot onto Irvin Avenue. If you haven’t been given a vehicle schedule, or if you don’t arrive on time, DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE ONTO IRVIN AVENUE.
SITE PLAN AND PAVEMENT CHALK
The Irvin Avenue Site Plan is attached.
In addition, David will be chalking the pavement squares with your initials to confirm which spaces you’ve been assigned.
GUEST VENDORS
Two guest vendors have elected to join us for this unusual week.
-
John & Kira’s Chocolates. This will be the second appearance at the Market for this popular Philadelphia chocolatier. John & Kira’s cancelled. -
Hand and Paw Massage will be making their very first Market appearance of any season. Consider visiting with your agitated pet for a relaxing session.
