VENDOR PARKING PERMITS
It’s good business to save the best parking spaces for SHOPPERS!
Most visitors will tell you it’s tough to find parking at the Market. We make things worse by parking our own vehicles in spaces that could be used and re-used many times by shoppers. Please encourage your table crew to park for free in the Lumberyard Parking Garage (just across Collings Avenue from the west entrance). There are plenty of spaces inside, and the walk back to the Market takes 3 minutes.

FLEXIBLE SITE PLAN Changes will continue to occur throughout the season as vendors come and go and as we learn more about how neighbors interact. I remind you no spaces are ever guaranteed and require your cooperation if I have to move your location any given week. Thank you.

Let’s rock this thing.
WEATHER FORECAST
Uh-oh. Things look good if you like cool temperatures, but the constant repetition of “few showers” is troubling. Fingers crossed the forecasters are talking about Westmont and Audubon, not Collingswood. 🙂

Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
SPECIAL EVENT WEEK!
This week in Collingswood, Haddon Avenue is SHUT DOWN during Market hours for the big annual Crafts and Fine Art festival. Consider using Atlantic Avenue (just below the Speedline) to enter and exit the Market if you usually drive Haddon Avenue. The festival also means the Borough needs Irvin Avenue for through traffic, so Guest Vendors have been absorbed into the internal Market spaces.
WEATHER FORECAST
The current forecast is delightful. Temperatures will top out in the 70s during the Market, on the way to a high of 83 for the day. Sunny but cool, with decreasing humidity. Let’s have another one!

SITE MAP FOR SAT AUG 16
Here’s the Site Map. Note that there is no Guest Vendor area at the bottom. Irvin Avenue will be used for through traffic. Guest vendors and nonprofit fundraisers are positioned in internal Market spaces (85-89) (17-19) this week.
GUEST VENDORS
Popular guest vendors Dee Dee’s Garden (pesto) and John & Kira’s (chocolate) will set up in spaces 18 and 17.
Brand new vendors Rich’s Micro Roast (roasting coffee beans on the premises; no beverage service) and Aurora Naturals (soap) will set up in spaces 86 and 87, where Treehouse Cafe usually sets up. Treehouse takes its 2-week vacation every August.

Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
HALFWAY THROUGH!
For those of us who participate all the way to Thanksgiving, this week (WEEK 15) marks the halfway point through our 30-week season. Two weeks ago, we passed the halfway point for vendors who don’t attend in November. How’s it going for you so far?

WEATHER FORECAST
The current forecast is delightful. (Just for the record, despite miserable predictions and early morning nastiness, no rain fell on the Market last Saturday once it started at 8am.)

WEATHER FORECAST
The current forecast is pretty awful. Cool, yes, but wickedly humid with the very high chance of rain, even morning thunderstorms. We’ve been lucky for years, so maybe we’ll be lucky again. But be prepared.

COUNTING THE CROWD, all 4,077 of them!
We counted! A team of five (Joe Mick, Isobella Cerceo, Shirley Cotrotsos, Sean Garrity, and his girlfriend Cat) scanned the entrances last week, (SAT JUL 26) and the final tally was pretty impressive for a day interrupted by a shower.

Tricia Burrough has created a Facebook page for the event.

Collingswood SAT JUL 26

Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
We’re in it now! All the summer crops are in and we start wondering how humid the days will be. Here’s what Weather.com says about SAT JUL 26. Early morning could be a bit sticky, but the humidity eases as the day gets warmer. Looks like a beauty.
(What’s the difference between Mostly Sunny and Partly Cloudy? Sounds like Glass Half Full / Glass Half Empty to me. See if you can tell the difference at 10am!)

COUNTING THE CROWD.
Have you ever wondered how many attend our Market? We have. So this week, we’re going to count. A team of five (Joe Mick, Isobella Cerceo, Shirley Cotrotsos, Sean Garrity, and his girlfriend Cat) will scan the entrances—north, south, east, and west—and click their clickers for every shopper who enters. We’re very grateful to them for their help.

Collingswood SAT JUL 19

Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
How the season flies! Just a few weeks ago, we were seeing the first Jersey blueberries in the Market. Already this week will likely be the last for the organic berries from Brookeberry Farms. They have blueberries and blackberries, but will not have a crop of raspberries this year. Meanwhile, Springdale Farms’ blackberry crop, when it comes, looks like a big one.

Weather

Weatherwise, low temps and light breeze. Cloudy, with lowering humidity. High of 80 by closing. Precipitation 0%.
GUEST VENDORS
A full slate of popular favorites: Green Aisle Grocery, John & Kira’s Chocolates, Sweet Freedom (Collingswood’s gluten-free bakery). And the berries.
LIVE MUSIC
Trio Nova Duo will beguilingly strum and pluck on the east stage, while, to the west, Dave Kelly will hold court.

  • BUY 2 GIVE 1. Once again, Market Sponsor Lourdes Wellness will partner with the Oaklyn Food Pantry to collect food donations at this week’s Market for distribution to our food-insecure neighbors on Monday. Collingswood SAT JUL 12

Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
Peach Month is officially (at least for our market) August, but this week, the delectable lovelies are starting to appear in quantity. Schober Sons will be bringing the first of their Century variety, and from Fruitwood Farms we’ll have peaches for the second week in a row (yellow Centuries and white Sugarmays).  Can the peach pie contest be far? 🙂
Weatherwise, no worries at all. A high for the day of 87, light winds, and zero chance of rain. What else did you expect?
GUEST VENDORS
We’ll have blueberries straight from the farm, both organic and conventional. No raspberries yet, but a limited supply of organic blackberries. (I guess they’ll all ripen at once this year.)
LIVE MUSIC
Sam Caruso will command our attention at the east stage while, to the west, 2/3 of the Trio Nova will beguilingly strum and pick.

Hello, Vendors and Friends of the Collingswood Farmers’ Market!
RED (field tomatoes) WHITE (white sweet corn) and BLUE (blueberries)! We’ve got your patriotic meals here! Week 10 of our 2014 Season will be not so crowded as last week. But the corn truck arrives, and two blueberry farms will participate, plus three fine guest vendors.
Weatherwise, we’re catching a serious break: after a very hot and humid week, our Market will be much cooler, and dry.
GUEST VENDORS
Both Green Ford Farm and Brookeberry Farm will be bringing berries this week. Late ripening and late-week rains are both depressing quantities, but early shoppers will be rewarded with choices.
LIVE MUSIC
Dave Kelly returns for the second week in a row at  the east stage. John Rossi commands the west stage.
