Collingswood SAT AUG 29
Hello, Vendors, Artists, Food Artisans, and Friends of the Market!
This Week SAT AUG 29
Spectacular summer weather!
DRY (literally a 0% chance of precipitation), with temperatures climbing from the high-60s to the mid-80s. Lower humidity too this week. Check out this perfect forecast.
Site Plan for SAT AUG 29
AUG 29 Guest Vendors
We’ve kept the Guest Vendor roster light this week since David Hodges will not be at the Market to see to special needs. We do, however, have some regular Guests in attendance.
- NEIL’S SHARPENING SERVICE will take up his usual spot beneath the Speedline on Irvin Avenue.
- DEE DEE’S GARDEN will serve up their signature pestos from the same location.
- Local food producers The CONSTELLATION COLLECTIVE will surprise everyone with new offerings (and old favorites) alongside the Revolution Roasters.
- WOOD SPOON RICE PUDDING will set up inside the Market between DanLynn and Schober.
Guest Artist
Virginia (Ginny) Bernier runs the company she calls Le Vin et La Mer. She creates wine cork (le vin) and sea shell (la mer) creations: cork wreaths, bulletin boards, initials/letters and critters, shell wreaths, angels, mirrors, frames, and trees.

Live Music
JOHN ROSSI
Back despite popular demand (Just kidding) John will pick, sing, and strum on the West Stage this week.
Dave will bring his familiar collection of stringed things to the Music Tent.
Dog Tent
4 PAWS RESCUE OF NEW JERSEY will staff the Dog Tent for us this week, to provide Market Permit Leashes to pet owners who haven’t yet legitimized their dogs.
BID Vendors
Familiar participants include perennial favorites, DiBartolo Bakery, Villa Barone Restaurant, Cheese Etc, and Sara’s Produce.
Mike DiBartolo of DiBartolo Bakery is your contact for all questions regarding BID participation at the Market. (609) 949-3424 cell for voice or text.
No Market Director this week
David Hodges will take his one-Saturday vacation next week. He’ll be traveling in Hungary and Czechoslovakia for a week and will miss the SAT AUG 29 Market. This Saturday, we’ll do our best to set your location for the week he’ll be away so there will be no confusion during his absence.
Green Paint Stripes
On the “sunny side,” where spaces are not always fixed, I have painted a few important stripes with green spray paint to mark the limits of some larger vendors.
There are stripes to mark the ends of Springdale Farms, AT Buzby, Rick Hymer, DanLynn Organic, and Schober Orchards. Everyone else should be able to figure out your locations based on the positions those early arrivers take up.
Joe Williams (who helps out with our Dog Leash Program and who sets up and knocks down the Market tents) will be on the site with site plans to help resolve any confusion.
Not This Week
Small Bills and a Bathroom Key
Many of you know, but for those of you who don’t, I carry small bills for vendors who run out of singles during the Market day. For guest vendors who might not be aware, I also have a key to Perkins Art Center, a Market sponsor, the primary benefit of which, for our vendors is INDOOR PLUMBING!
Vendors Please Enforce: “No Permit, No Purchase”
This won’t be easy, but it’s necessary. If good dog behavior is important to you, you’ll comply in June with the No Permit, No Purchase policy, declining to serve customers who don’t choose to cooperate with the Permitting and Behavior Guidelines. David Hodges will distribute a small batch of Dog Behavior Guidelines to all vendors for distribution to anyone who appears at your table attempting to make purchases with a non-permitted dog.
It’s good business to save the best parking spaces for SHOPPERS! Most visitors will tell you it’s tough to find parking at the Market. We make things worse by parking our own vehicles in spaces that could be used and re-used many times by shoppers. Please encourage your table crew to park for free in the Lumberyard Parking Garage (just across Collings Avenue from the west entrance). There are plenty of spaces inside, and the walk back to the Market takes 3 minutes.
Flexible Site Plan
Changes will continue to occur throughout the season as vendors come and go and as we learn more about how neighbors interact. I remind you no spaces are ever guaranteed and require your cooperation if I have to move your location any given week.

- O MADE GRANOLA returns for another rare appearance, so stock up.
- Local food producer Charles Koory return with his CREPE CART to the “Treehouse” space.
- RICH’S MICRO ROAST will set up his roaster alongside the Crepe Cart to provide us a bit of that cafe magic at the west end. Come buy for a custom roast.
Guest Artist
Joy Manning and Samantha Bednarek call themselves League Street Press. This week, they’ll bring their Foodie-Themed Notecards that feature their watercolor paintings and original recipes.

4 PAWS RESCUE OF NEW JERSEY will staff the Dog Tent for us this week, to provide Market Permit Leashes to pet owners who haven’t yet legitimized their dogs.

Collingswood SAT AUG 15

Multi-Agency Animal Adoptathon
This week, SAT AUG 15
This week, for the first time, FIVE Animal welfare agencies, shelters, and an animal hospital will take over the West End (vacated by Treehouse for their vacation). Come by to see the adoptable animals, pick up some training tips, drop off some shelter supplies, kiss a pooch, have your pet microchipped, and make a donation to the cause.
AUG 15 Guest Vendors
The Craft and Fine Arts Festival takes over Haddon Avenue this weekend, so we lose the Guest Vendor area on Irvin Avenue. As a result, we have few Guest Vendors this Saturday, but they’re beauties.
- WOOD SPOON will bring their by now famous Rice Pudding (and other new delights)
- RED FOX GOURMET will be back to re-stock your artisan snack food needs
- Local food producer Charles Koory will debut his notorious CREPE CART for a two-week trial.
Guest Artist
Karla Heartsfield (Howard Heartsfield Studio/Gallery) is a Fiber Artist specializing in Handcrafted Clothing & Accessories with a loving eye towards the environment. Her work “is a combination of Fashion & Art. The Style is best described as Organic, Tribal, Textural, and Handcrafted.” Customers describe her work as Comfortable, Easy, and Affordable.

Live Music
JOHN ROSSI
John will pick, sing, and strum on the West Stage this week.
RICARDO TUMBAO
Meanwhile, on the East Stage beneath the Music Tent, a brand new act, Ricardo Tumbao, will perform. I don’t have a picture of him yet, but I’ll be sure to get one on Saturday. It’s even possible his name is not Tumbao, since that’s the word for music with a particular Cuban rhythm. Let’s just say we need to get acquainted.
Dog Tent
New Jersey Aid for Animals will staff the Dog Tent for us this week, but that particular duty is overshadowed by their participation in the Adoptathon. They will, however, be available to provide Market Permit Leashes to pet owners who haven’t yet legitimized their dogs.
BID Vendors
Two BID spaces have been taken over by the Adoptathon. The other four will be occupied by perennial favorites, DiBartolo Bakery, Villa Barone Restaurant, Cheese Etc, and Sara’s Produce.
Mike DiBartolo of DiBartolo Bakery is your contact for all questions regarding BID participation at the Market. (609) 949-3424 cell for voice or text.
Next Week SAT AUG 22
—Back to Full Strength
SAT AUG 22, there’s no big downtown Collingswood event, so we’ll have our usual Guest Vendor spaces available for ice cream, granola and delectables from the Constellation Collective.
